Anyone who’s familiar with Andy Reid knows there aren’t many things on this planet he loves more than a good cheeseburger, and he apparently got the chance to chow down on one of the tastiest ones he’s ever had while gearing up for Super Bowl LVIII courtesy of Guy Fieri.

In 2020, Andy Reid led the Kansas City Chiefs to their first Super Bowl victory in 50 years, and the head coach dropped a quote for the ages in the wake of the victory by saying he was planning on celebrating by housing “the biggest cheeseburger you’ve ever seen.”

Prior to Super Bowl LVIII, the burger aficionado was kind enough to share a list of three spots he thinks are unrivaled when it comes to serving up what is presumably his favorite food. However, he may have been forced to reassess things based on what he had to say about the cheeseburger he was treated to before the Chiefs beat the 49ers in The Big Game.

Reid recently sat down for a conversation with the Y’s Guys podcast where he was asked about the best place to grab a cheeseburger in Kansas City.

Reid—who linked up with Fieri on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that aired in 2019—had some very high praise for the burger in question, saying:

We were practicing at the Raiders facility there and Guy has a restaurant—he’s got a few restaurants—out in Las Vegas, where he went to UNLV.

So he called me and he said, ‘Hey, I want to bring you and your coaches over some cheeseburgers.’ “I never turn a cheeseburger down. So I said, ‘All right, bring it on.’

Look, I’m not saying Guy Fieri deserves a Super Bowl ring, but there’s definitely a chance things would’ve panned out differently if he hadn’t brought Reid the best burger he’s ever had before the game.
