Report: Harrison Butker attends Chiefs Super Bowl ring ceremony with wife after controversial ‘homemaker’ speech – one week on from saving BJ Thompson during cardiac arrest…
Harrison Butker attended the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl ring ceremony on Thursday night with wife Isabelle by his side nearly a month after his controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College.
Butker’s appearance in a beige cream suit was also one week after he helped save teammate BJ Thompson when the defensive lineman went into cardiac arrest.
Isabelle wore a green dress with matching shoes to complement her husband of six years. The couple has two children together as well.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has been under fire for the last month thanks to his remarks, including calling women ‘homemakers’ and that men set the tone in relationships.
‘I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you. Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,’ Butker said in the mid-May speech.
I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.,’ Butker added. ‘I’m on this stage today, able to be the man that I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation.’
