Football icon Travis Kelce delivered a speech, beer in hand, alongside his brother Jason Kelce, as they were awarded their diplomas in a surprise ceremony at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio on April 11.
The Kelce siblings commenced Alumni Weekend at their alma mater by hosting their podcast, “New Heights Live: We Gotta Talk About It,” at the University of Cincinnati’s Fifth Third Arena, according to a local report.
The event culminated in an unforeseen graduation ceremony for the brothers, who had missed their own commencement ceremonies years prior. (Travis completed the final credit hours to earn his degree in interdisciplinary studies from the College of Arts and Sciences in 2022, according to the Sporting News.
In a humorous moment captured on video by Stephanie Breeden, Travis initially read lines intended for the university president before offering his own words of wisdom to the graduating class – courtesy of the Beastie Boys.
“You gotta fight for your right to party!” he proclaimed, beer in hand.
