We’re officially just days away from Super Bowl 58 and now is as good a time as ever to start assessing the prop bet market ahead of the big game.
The Kansas City Chiefs have a number of star players, like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, for fans to place wagers on.
Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl player props: Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and more props for Chiefs vs. 49ers
Here’s a look at four Kansas City prop bets we think are worth keeping an eye on during the Super Bowl:
Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl player props: Over 1.5 touchdown passes (-140 or better)
If you can believe it, Mahomes has just one two-touchdown performance in his last five games. That one game came against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round – the only game in which the Chiefs trailed in the postseason.
If this game becomes a back-and-forth battle, don’t expect Kansas City to be sparse throwing the football.
During the regular season, Mahomes had nine games in which he threw for at least two touchdowns. Mahomes has played in 17 career postseason games, and he’s thrown for at least two scores in 12 of them, including a three-touchdown performance in last year’s Super Bowl.
Chiefs Super Bowl 58 prop bets: Travis Kelce 70+ receiving yards (-125 or better
Kelce has looked like his usual self during the Chiefs’ postseason run, averaging 87.3 yards per game during the playoffs. His best performance came in the AFC Championship, where he caught all 11 of his targets for 116 yards and a score.
Including the playoffs, Kelce totaled at least 70 yards in eight games this season.
Expect a heavy dose of Kelce on Super Bowl Sunday, as he’s seen double digit targets twice in the postseason. Mahomes will certainly turn to his go-to guy on offense, and in turn, we think 70 yards is more than attainable for arguably the NFL’s best tight end.
