Who better to motivate a team playing for a championship than someone who in recent years has won three of them?
On Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks dropped an NBA Finals hype video narrated by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and three-time Super Bowl winner and MVP Patrick Mahomes. The series begins Thursday night with the Mavericks visiting the Boston Celtics in Game 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Mahomes, of course, is one of the sports world’s most prominent and high-profile Mavericks fans. He was born and grew up in Tyler, Texas, before going on to star as a college quarterback with Texas Tech.
Mahomes attends multiple Mavericks home games each year and was frequently spotted on the sideline during the regular season of the current campaign. That trend has continued into the postseason, including Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals when Dallas defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was joined at that game by teammates Travis Kelce, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and Rashee Rice.
Mahomes also regularly posts clips on social media of himself watching Mavericks games on television when he is in Kansas City.
