Prince Harry felt ‘terribly alone’ after hearing William and Charles’ confession… Confession?
Prince Harry has claimed that his father King Charles and his brother Prince William may have never known him at all following his decision to leave the UK and move to the US.
Prince Harry has candidly revealed a moment of profound isolation, recounting an incident that left him feeling “terribly alone”.
This revelation is part of his explosive memoir, Spare, where he delves into the heart-wrenching conversation with Prince William about his and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from Royal duties and relocate to the US.
In Spare, Harry expresses disbelief at the lack of understanding from his family. He said: “It was one thing to disagree about who was at fault or how things might have been different, but for him to claim total ignorance of the reasons I’d fled the land of my birth- the land for which I’d fought and been ready to die-my Mother Country?
“That fraught phrase. To claim no knowledge of why my wife and I took the drastic step of picking up our child and just running like hell, leaving behind everything-house, friends, furniture? Really?.”
Harry goes on to express his astonishment at not only his brother’s reaction but also that his father, King Charles, seemed equally unaware, reports the Mirror. He concludes with a sombre reflection: “If they didn’t know why Id left, maybe they just didn’t know me. At all,” suggesting a deep disconnect within the Royal family.
Harry candidly expressed his feelings of isolation, admitting that he felt “colder” and “terribly alone.” The Duke of Sussex was notably absent from this year’s Trooping the Colour, amid ongoing tensions with the Royal Family.
His last appearance at the event, traditionally held to celebrate the monarch’s official birthday, was in 2019 before stepping back from Royal duties.
Commenting on Harry’s absence, Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun: “I think when it comes to military matters Harry has always taken an interest.”
He further shared his insights on the rift within the Royal Family, attributing the blame to Harry and Meghan. He commented: “I think that he does unquestionably view the way the break has occurred with the Royal Family.
Adding: “Which, as I say in my opinion, is the fault of the Sussexes. They’ve been hoping for an apology from the Royal Family regarding their treatment during their time as senior royals, which is unlikely to happen. There’s likely a touch of regret there.”
